Dog Behavior Training If you have entered the world of dog behavior training, it is not as difficult as one may think. Unless you have a dog that has decided to have some nasty habits, then the training or the breaking of these habits can become overwhelming. There are many habits a dog can pick up or be born with through his breed, but there is always a solution to these problems if you have enough time and patience to deal with them.
If your dog is a barker, there may be many reasons for this. It's up to you to figure out what that reason is. If your dog barks continually when you leave home, then it most likely that he is missing you and wants you back. Dogs' instincts are to be in packs and when we bring them home we are their pack, so when we leave it is natural that they display a cry of loneliness. There are many things that can be done to alleviate your dog's stress when you leave home . You can leave the TV or radio on or leave him a Buster Cube and that will keep him busy for a very long time.
Without a doubt if it's barking, whining, or grunting, the best way of dealing with it is to ignore it. When you react to your dog, you are just reaffirming that what he is doing is okay. Part of the problem is we love our four legged friend and want to please him so what he wants is important to us, but getting up time after time in a short space of time to let him in or out is not being good to your dog. It is just letting him think that all he has to do is ask and he will receive. This could make you a very busy person, so if you ignore his request for the most part he won't be long getting the idea that this type of behavior gets him no where. Some of a dog's habits can be truly annoying, but if you look hard enough there is always an answer to the problem.
