The instructors of these classes are professional trainers, many of whom have written several books on the subject of dog training. There are many books you can buy to help you learn to become a trainer. When you buy these books and read them it is not enough to know the information. You do need to have a dog to train so that you get to employ the techniques described in the books. When you take a class, you can bring your dog with you to the classes or certain schools have many breeds of dogs for you to work with. This is because with different breeds, you may have to use different methods, some of which work faster than others. In dog training classes, you will learn about using positive reinforcement, rewards, and equipment such as leashes, collars and clickers. Positive reinforcement always works with giving the dog lots of praise and whether you employ other training aids, you always need to praise the dog when it does what you want it to do.
